Students seek our assistance for a variety of reasons. Some of these areas include difficulties adjusting to college life, struggling with depression, 焦虑, difficult relationships, 关注身体形象, 性取向问题, 身份问题, 创伤, and substance abuse issues.  At the SCC we are here to help you develop the skills needed to be healthy, happy 无花果树.

The Student Counseling Center (SCC) is considered a “health service provider” by the State of Indiana. 像这样, all services are confidential, including the identities, 信息, and all records kept on student clients/patients. Our staff cannot reveal nor confirm the identity of students seeking SCC services, their participation in those services, nor the content of communications with those students to those outside the SCC staff without the student’s knowledge and written consent. Information about a student’s use of 咨询 services is kept separately from their academic record.

Students may sign a written release granting their counselor, or a representative of the SCC, permission to share confidential 咨询 information with specific other persons such as parents, RA, 教员, or another health service provider.

Important Note: We do not have a Student Counseling Center email account and do not provide email 咨询.

All questions and requests for personal help, 咨询, 治疗, 或咨询 should be directed to our main number: (812) 237-3939. Our Counseling Center does not respond to email requests for personal help, 咨询, 治疗, 或咨询. Due to variations in work schedules, it may be days (or weeks) before an email account is checked. Please refer to the following links for additional 信息 contacting the 咨询 center during normal business hours or after-hours.

  • 费用 for 咨询 will be based on the number of sessions used, with a maximum charge of $60.  This primarily covers 咨询 (Individual, 集团, and Couple’s 咨询) and use of the psychiatrist during the fall and spring semesters. 
  • As noted, the first 3 sessions of 咨询 are free. 
    • Students who are seen for 4-6 sessions will be charged $30.
    • Students who use 7 sessions or more will be charged an additional $30. 
  • Please note that students seeking services during the summer will be allowed 3 free sessions after which they will be charged $30 to cover the remainder of the summer. 
  • Paying the fee does not entitle students to see the psychiatrist.  Psychiatric referral is done on a case-by-case basis and must be facilitated by the student’s counselor.  As noted on the consent form; to see the psychiatrist the student must be actively seeing a counselor within the Counseling Center.
  • The fee for 咨询 will reset at the beginning of each academic year. 
  • The number of sessions is counted at the end of each semester for accurate billing and are billed to the student's account the following semester. (For example, sessions are counted at the end of December and billed in January.)
